UKBC BOXING COUNCIL
ABOUT
The UKBC was founded in 2010 with an aim to give boxers from around Great Britain a high quality platform to perform on and also a route to winning championships and progress as far as they desire, including up to professional level.
Our Chairman and founder is Mr Peter Stoten a highly decorated Boxer and BBBofC professional trainer who has held a multitude of national titles and a veteran of over 100 fights in the UK and abroad.
Peter has a vast network of Boxing gyms and a database of fighters unrivalled in semi-professional boxing in the U.K.
We accept applications from competitors of all levels and with our large roster of fighters we can arrange fair matches for all.
Our list of boxers is growing all the time and we have a truly nationwide & international pool of fighters to choose from.
Events sanctioned by us will always be of the highest quality & matches will only be made by our officials after each individual boxer is assessed for suitability.
Safety is our highest priority at all times. We only allow bouts to commence when a qualified paramedic is ringside and an ambulance is on standby at the venue at all times.
RULES
The UKBC sanctions various events in Great Britain & Ireland and each of these events are held under our rules and guidelines.
Full rules are discussed with each gym/fighter individually and a rules meeting is held before the start of each event
But as a general guide below is a short non-exhaustive list of important bout rules.
-Undercard bouts - 3 x 2 minutes duration
-County/Southern Area bouts - 4 x 2 minutes duration
-National Championship bouts - 5 x 2 minutes
-Gloves - 10oz or 12oz by agreement - supplied by the UKBC or fighters own choice if agreed by an appointed UKBC official.
-No headguards
-Bouts are scored by either the referee or appointed judges
-Fouls will be met with either point deductions or disqualification at the referees discretion
-Fouls will be discussed at each event and a full list can be supplied on request
WHAT WE EXPECT
The UKBC expects fair play at all times whilst a boxer is at our events either as a participant or spectator.
Each boxer should endeavour to promote themselves by selling tickets to friends and family and with social media posts where relevant. This will not only help each show run more effectively it will also allow each fighter to recoup gym, travel, equipment or other costs as there will be commision paid on ticket sales.
Although each event organiser may set his/her commission terms the UKBC will ensure that this is inline with what we expect our boxers to earn. Our commission deals are excellent in comparison to other events.
FEMALE BOXING
Since our inception we have been showcasing female boxers & will continue to do so.
Boxing is becoming an extremely popular sport for ladies to participate in & on all of our events you can expect to see the girls prove themselves & entertain with their skills and toughness.
We are always looking for female boxers to join our organisation, so feel free to contact us to enquire further.
OUR STAFF
Peter Stoten
Chairman
The UKBC is overseen by our chairman Peter.
Peter has been involved in boxing since childhood and as such knows the sport at all levels. We are in safe hands!
Wayne Morley
Head of UKBC - SOUTH
Wayne heads up our sister organisation that sanctions events in the South East of England.
Holding shows at the prestigious Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone Kent, the UKBC-South gives a platform for fighters that do not live in the more populated areas of London and main towns.
These local shows have produced talented fighters that have managed to work their way up the UKBC rankings and allowed them to appear on other events sanctioned by us.
Alongside these events Wayne also runs the Kent Coast Charity Boxing organisation. A white collar boxing show that does amazing things for selected charities.
We are very fortunate to have a man as passionate about boxing and charity work and this helps us thrive as an organisation.
